An exclusive photography workshop (maximum 6 participants) in the heart of the Venice Carnival.
The Promise
You will have 24 frames to tell the story of the Venice Carnival. Every shot will carry weight, anticipation, and a conscious choice: no burst mode, no wasted frames. Over 4 hours, within an intimate group of up to 6 people, I will guide you toward the light, the details, and the fleeting moments that make Carnival an authentic experience to live, long before it is captured.
The Experience: 24 frames, each carrying its own weight
Whether you bring a DSLR, a mirrorless camera, or a smartphone, there is only one rule: 24 frames for the entire workshop. You will record every shot in your personal notebook, jotting down why you chose that exact moment: your personal Carnival journal. If you use a smartphone, you will also shoot through an app that simulates vintage film roll, locking your shutter count at 24. Either way, every single frame matters, and no shot is ever an accident.
You will learn to observe mindfully before pressing the shutter: reading a mask before framing it, catching the gaze behind a lace veil, tracing the texture of an 18th-century Bauta, or capturing the rustle of a costume a split second before the wearer turns your way.
We will wander through hidden squares and quiet footbridges, chasing the warm afternoon Venetian light as the Carnival slowly softens into dusk. We will seek Venice’s authentic stories: an elderly seamstress adjusting a costume, the clash of vibrant silks against weathered grey stone, a costumed figure pausing to gaze at the water.
I will review your frames with you on location. If you need more time to pinpoint the right shot to print, our critique continues once you're back home, until you find the one frame you truly deserve to keep forever.
Why a group of 6 makes all the difference
A maximum of 6 participants means you have my undivided attention for four full hours—right beside you, ready to check your display, adjust your framing, or point out that fleeting light you were about to miss. I will adapt to your unique way of seeing the world with tailor-made guidance, whether you shoot in RAW on a mirrorless body or through your smartphone’s lens.

Absolutely yes! Photography is not just about complex technique, but above all about eye, composition, and light. The workshop is structured to teach you to see the world differently, regardless of the device you use.
For this specific daytime walking workshop, a tripod is not necessary and would risk slowing down your movements. We recommend traveling light to enjoy the walk.
The workshop will take place regularly even in case of light rain (which offers fantastic reflections and atmospheres for street photography!). In case of heavy thunderstorms or weather alerts, the event will be postponed or a full refund will be issued.
The workshop is conducted mainly in Italian. However, if you speak English, I can absolutely guide you with basic instructions and help you with your camera settings. While there won't be fluent, continuous English explanations throughout the event, if you have an adaptable spirit, you are more than welcome to join us!
